At least 44 cause-related cycling rides raised more than $1 million each in 2017, according to a study by Cadence Sports and the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum.

This first-of-its-kind study goes deep into exploring individual events to disclose which rides were members of the “Million Dollar Club” which is topped by the Pan-Mass Challenge, a single weekend event that brought in a jaw-dropping $56.5 million in 2017.

Topping the just-released Million Dollar Club list are 10 rides that have been dubbed “The Breakaway Group” for their industry-leading fundraising achievements.

They are:

  1. The Pan-Mass Challenge (Massachusetts) — $56.5 million
  2. Pelotonia (Ohio) — $26.2 million
  3. AIDS/LifeCycle (California) — $15.2 million
  4. BP MS 150 (Texas) — $14.7 million
  5. Rodman Ride for Kids (Massachusetts) — $12.4 million
  6. Bike 4 Chai (New York) —  $8.4 million
