Is Flat the New Up for Established P2P Programs?

Many groups are seeing their programs run on the same pace that their campaigns had achieved in 2015. And, for many of these groups, keeping pace with 2015 is a victory.

For the past decade, peer-to-peer fundraisers have one key source of data for tracking the direction of their field — the Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Thirty. But this summer, we’re working to create a new set of data that will help your organization plan for and adjust for the crucial fall events season.

We’ve been reaching out to P2P professionals who manage campaigns and events during the first half of the year as part of our soon-to-be-released P2P Fundraising Mid-Year Report.

One key early theme has already emerged — many groups are seeing their programs run on the same pace that their campaigns had achieved in 2015. And, for many of these groups, keeping pace with 2015 is a victory, especially at a time when economic headwinds are slowing down other forms of fundraising across the country.

“We didn’t have a record-breaking year, but we’ve had a great year,” says Greg Sroda, senior director of AIDS/LifeCycle, which raised $16.2 million this spring — close to the record $16.6 million in raised the previous year.

How has your campaign fared thus far in 2016? We’re looking to connect with as many P2P professionals as possible in the coming weeks to hear what’s working — and what challenges they’re expecting through the rest of 2016.
