Is there a difference between an experience and a culture? We think so. Learn how to evolve your event from a one-day experience into an overall fundraising culture with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s Jennifer Ashbaugh and Blackbaud’s Amy Braiterman and Nancy Palo. Get useful ideas to help you increase engagement, fundraising, and retention.
Jennifer Ashbaugh oversees Big Brothers Brothers Big Sisters signature fundraising event, Bowl for Kids’ Sake, a top 20 athletic fundraising event, raising over $21 million annually from more than 500,000 team captains, bowlers, and donors. She also manages national retention strategy to retain BFKS participants as lifelong Big Brothers Big Sisters supporters and develops marketing and technical resources for a network of 350 agencies.
Amy Braiterman, principal strategy consultant at Blackbaud, supports customers with their peer-to-peer fundraising events with a process she refers to as “data-driven strategy.” Amy’s data driven strategy analyzes how effective event participants are using online fundraising tools and takes those results to develop an event fundraising plan. Prior to joining Blackbaud, Amy earned her fundraising stripes managing events for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Alzheimer’s Association and Share Our Strength.
Nancy Palo, senior consultant, strategic services, Blackbaud, brings more than 12 years experience in the event fundraising space and is looking forward to helping nonprofits implement solutions to increase revenue through innovative online fundraising strategies. Prior to joining Blackbaud in April 2012, Nancy worked at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in California and New York where see oversaw the Society’s peer to peer fundraising campaigns, raising more than $30 million during her 8 years with the organization. She studied Communications and Business at the University of San Diego. Twitter: @fundraising101
