P2P Video Library: Journey to Conquer Cancer

The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in Toronto shares a 2-minute video that promotes its Journey to Conquer Cancer Run-Walk and includes information about its mission.

The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in Toronto has been staging its Journey to Conquer Cancer Run-Walk for just two years, but it has already incorporated video storytelling into its communications plan for the event.

To help inspire participants to take part in its third-annual event this June, the organization has produced the above 2-minute video, which is filled with footage of runners and walkers from its 2014 campaign. The video is set to cheery music and, in addition to footage from the event, includes a message about the cause itself — with statistics about the number of Canadians who will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetimes.

Thanks to Keith Clarke, manager of special events for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, for sharing this example of effective video storytelling.

Does your organization have a peer-to-peer fundraising video? Has one of your supporters taken the time to create his or her own video? If so, we’d love to share it with the rest of the peer-to-peer fundraising community.

Share a link to your video in the comments section below, or send it to us at peter@peertopeerforum.com.

And be sure to check out more peer-to-peer fundraising videos.
