SALARY RANGE: $93,000 – $98,000 per annum

POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the Marketing & Communications team, the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and Event Marketing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing marketing strategies that support the full Events portfolio with a specialized focus on peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising initiatives.

This role acts as the marketing lead for all fundraising events, project-leading the creation of marketing deliverables, participant engagement tools, and campaign assets, while working in close collaboration with the Events team to build participant acquisition, retention, and fundraising success. This role sits within the Creative team within the Foundation’s Marketing & Communications department, and reports directly into the Director, Creative. The ideal candidate is a highly talented and passionate marketer with strong communications and cross-functional collaboration skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Marketing

  • In collaboration with the Events Team, develop and manage an effective participant recruitment strategy that aligns with donor acquisition goals and targets
  • Advise on participant engagement journeys — including email coaching series, fundraising incentives, team captain tools, social sharing assets, and recognition campaigns
  • Analyze participant insights, fundraising data, and engagement patterns to inform segmentation and messaging recommendations
  • Support the Events team with marketing expertise, ensuring best practices for community engagement and fundraising growth
  • Act as a P2P event marketing subject matter expert for the Foundation

Marketing Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies for all fundraising events, including signature, community, and peer-to-peer programs
  • Serve as the main marketing partner to the Events teams, ensuring alignment of goals, messaging, timelines, and campaign objectives
  • Build and manage marketing plans, campaign calendars, recruitment communications, and event brand positioning
  • Create and maintain marketing workback timelines, production briefs, and project plans, collaborating closely with Events, Corporate Development, Brand, Creative, Content, Digital, and Public Relations leads

Project Leadership & Marketing Deliverables

  • Act as project lead for all marketing deliverables related to the Events portfolio — working with internal creative team for creative development, production workflows, approvals, and vendor coordination
  • Ensure brand consistency across all channels, deliverables, and event marketing materials

Performance, Reporting & Optimization

  • Monitor campaign performance and provide insights on participant acquisition trends, engagement, and ROI
  • Use analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation in marketing strategies specific to events and peer-to-peer fundraising
  • Stay informed on market trends, emerging tools, and sector benchmarks in peer-to-peer fundraising, experiential marketing, and community engagement

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Peer to Peer (P2P) event or communications experience strongly preferred
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, fundraising or a related field
  • 5+ years of not-for-profit event fundraising or communications experience
  • Strong project management skills and ability to effectively delegate
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in event marketing and peer-to-peer fundraising
  • Superior presentation, writing and editing skills and ability to convey compelling stories and messages that are tailored to unique stakeholder groups
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with various timelines and handle competing, changing priorities
  • Proactive problem solver; solution-oriented; displays sound decision-making and judgment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and flexibility

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Fast-paced, service and results oriented environment
  • May have some activity outside of the office to support meetings
  • The Foundation has a hybrid work model. Staff will be required to have a safe home office set-up 3-4 days per week and will be in office for 1-2 days per week, (specifics to be planned with your manager.)
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in all positions throughout the Foundation
  • Shared commitment and support of the overall Foundation goals
